‘THE LIBERATORS’.

The Liberators Are the Canadian Military Veterans who fought to free The Netherlands from the Nazis during the Second World War. We Canadians do not call them this . . . the Dutch People do.

To them these men are the ‘LIBERATORS OF THE NETHERLANDS'.

Accompanying eighteen Canadian Army Veterans in the spring of 2015 inspired this film. We intended to accompany these men and their families to Holland to film and record the stories WW2 Veterans carry with them. We wanted to do this before they are lost forever!  We had no idea what would happen.

 

Our experience in Holland over that ten days in May 2015, became very emotional and the inspiration for this film. We returned with six of those veterans in 2018 and hoped to return once more in 2020 but that trip was cancelled due to the  world pandemic. We returned in 2021 with two of the original 18 and now will return this year (2023) with one!
